- Loud music at all hours( I know I sound old and one step away from telling kids to stay off my lawn but I don’t care)
- People smoking under my patio and it filtering into my apartment. (this includes weed and tobacco products)
- Pissing rent money away.
- Worrying about the stuff in my Jeep and hoping it won’t be stolen
- Heavy footed upstairs neighbors

Ok…So a while back I said I had some big news but I wasn’t going to say anything else about it until I was for sure…Well…I’m for sure.. Kate and I started looking for a house a few months back. Just getting an idea of what we wanted. Around April 1st we found out that a house we both liked. The people that own were in a situation that they had to sell..
Soooo…We bought it!!!!
We haven’t offically signed the paperwork yet..Closing is scheduled for next Monday. On May 1st the house will be ours. Now for some stats on the house:
- 1500sq ft
- 3 bedrooms, 2 bath
- ~1.5 acres of land
- riding mower comes with the house :-)
- washer, dryer, stove

I thought I would be able to drop a bit more news about what’s going with the “big news”. But it looks like I’m going to have to wait until this week sometime..Hopefully. I promise I won’t talk about it again until I have some *real* news to share.
Work has been insane lately. We are currently in the middle of the internal roll out of RHEL5 and we’ve been seeing a few issues that didn’t come up with out testing. One of those is an annoying OpenOffice printing problem that causes OO to hang when trying to scan the printers on our local CUPS server. One of my co-workers found a fix for that seems to resolve the issue for now.
We’ve also seen issues with Cisco Aironet cards. And by issues I mean they don’t work under RHEL5 at all. They just keep trying to connect and never connect. We’ve tried upgrading the firmware on the airo cards and a few tricks to tell the card what it’s supposed to connect to. The only fix we’ve found to be for sure is replacing the CIsco card with an Intel card. It’s a nasty fix, I know..But it’s the only way we’ve found to make sure the wireless works.

Sorry for disappearing…I’ve got some pretty big stuff in the works that some of you know about but I’m not really ready to post anything about it on here just yet. I should know for sure tomorrow if it’s going to go through.. In the meantime here a quote from one of my users:
